Shirley Hamilton Lollar, age 85, of Kildare, Texas, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 8, 2020, in a Mt. Pleasant, Texas, hospital.
Shirley was born December 12, 1934, in Linden, Texas, to Ransom and Ethel Jack Hamilton. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Kildare, and retired from Thiokol as an Administrative Assistant after 30 years of service. Shirley was very active in her church, leading music for 25 years and writing plays and skits for the church’s holiday programs. After she and Hillard retired they volunteered to lead music at two different nursing homes once a month, doing that ministry together for 20 years. Shirley loved her church, singing and playing 42 dominoes. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Don Hamilton.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hillard Lollar of Kildare, Texas; two daughters, Beth Lollar of Hugh Springs, Texas, Corby Coulter and husband Marc of The Woodlands, Texas; special cousin, Nancy Barton and husband Gene of Benton, Louisiana; grandson, Matt Jones of Orange, Texas; a number of friends and relatives; and her beloved pet, “Rover”.
A private burial will be held under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
